Econ Ministry: Russia’s GDP growth at 1.1% in September

MOSCOW, Oct 17 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose 1.1% in September and slowed down to 1.3% in July–September from 1.9% in April–June, the Economic Development Ministry said in a research note on Wednesday.

“The worsening of the GDP dynamics in the third quarter as compared with the second quarter was mainly linked with the situation in the agricultural sector whose negative contribution amounted to 0.4 percentage points,” the ministry said.

In January–September, the country’s GDP growth stood at 1.6%.

The ministry also adjusted its August GDP growth assessment to 1.1% from 1%.

In July–September, the industrial sector contributed 0.6 percentage points to the growth while transport and financial services added 0.2 and 0.3 percentage points, respectively.
